Here is a brief history of my work experience summarizing things I did and learnt along the way.
Pipe17 (Product Manager), E-Commerce | Remote (Aug 2022 – Present)
Pipe17 provides a fully automated omnichannel order operations platform for Ecommerce merchants.

What I did: Drove the product roadmap working closely with Sales. Led the integrations development team prioritizing work, and clearing blockers to high quality timely releases.
​
What I learnt: How E-commerce operates behind the scenes. Managing expectations with key stakeholders internally and externally; handling multiple competing priorities while maintaining focus on true north of company goals.
Vineti (Technical Product Lead), Healthcare | Remote (Sep 2019 – Aug 2022)
Vineti provides a platform as a service for cell & gene therapy supply chain management.
What I do: I work as a Technical Product Lead - leading a 9 member team to build new features for Vineti's PTM platform.
I work closely with the Product & Engineering Directors to understand client's needs, prioritize features, and plan releases.
I also collaborate with the larger engineering group to develop architecture, currently focusing on domain driven design.

What I learnt: I learnt about Cell & Gene therapy, and how the personalized therapy industry is developing.
Gained better understanding of building a highly customizable PaaS.
Independent Coaching , IT Services | Remote (Sep 2019 – Current)

What I did: Coaching Individuals on Product Management & business fundamentals. Helped Engineers successfully transition into Product Management & Customer Success roles.
Coached startup leaders on Business Model, Product & Process management, and Agile methodologies.
Helped the team navigate the shift from in-office to remote working during the pandemic.

What I learnt: How to drive a team to naturally evolve and adopt processes such as SCRUM.
How to help a business leader manage up (stakeholders) and down (employees).



Story31 (Founder), Interactive Storytelling Platform | Bangalore
(Jan 2014 – Aug 2016)
At Story31 we built an app with a library of interactive storybooks for kids. The goal was to deliver next-gen interactive stories that will create a positive impact on kids learning and development.

What I did: Launched an app that made customized interactive stories for kids generating enough revenue to break even in 18 months.
Architected & built the full stack to launch hybrid mobile app that helped users make customized interactive stories for kids.
Built a high performing technology team across full time & contract employees that outgrew my oversight.
​
What I learnt: The importance of Customer First approach to building products.
The fatal flaw of drowning in opportunity.
When to pull the plug on a project.
SimplyFarm (Co-Founder), Hydroponics + IoT for Farms | Bangalore
(Aug 2016 – Mar 2019)
At Simply Farm we worked to bring gardening to all urban homes. From being the first soilless cultivation store in India to developing efficient hydroponic systems and kits, our focus was to change food production and consumption.

What I did: Raised over $150,000 in seed round; exited via acquisition.
Led a team across technology and agriculture to develop & launch 5 physical products, companion IoT app, ecommerce website.
Grew the team from 2 to 20 members by hiring, training, and collaborating with contractors.

What I learnt: Building value in the company along with valuation.
The true power of technology to change lives for the better.
Managing expectations up & down the chain; while keeping the team motivated.




Rally.org (Developer), Crowdfunding for Social Causes | Remote + CA, USA (May 2013 – Dec 2013)
At Rally we were vigorously iterating on a crowdfunding platform for causes that matter. I was part of a strong team of developers that worked in pairs.

What I did: Increased pledges & funds raised by 27% over 6 months; working closely with end customers & the data analytics team.
​
What I learnt: True advantage of TDD, CI/CD and how it affects company culture.
Importance of data in product decision making.

Disney (Integration Lead Engineer), Remote + CA, USA (Feb 2011 – May 2013)
I joined Disney via Togetherville's acquisition. We used the core parts of Togetherville to create a suite of services built on SOA. Post developement, I worked towards evangelizing the products internally.

What I did: Co-ordinated between game studios, apps, website teams, and ID development team to create custom libraries, manage release timelines, & facilitate integration across Disney properties.
Evangelized the services to teams across Disney eventually scaling to support 300 million users.

What I learnt: How to drive adoption of services, prioritize features and releases based on client requirements.
Dynamics of working in a large organization.
Togetherville Inc (Developer), Social Media Platform for Kids | CA, USA (Sep 2010 – Feb 2011)
Togetherville was a safe social networking platform for kids.
​
What I did: I was Engineer #3 working in pairs in an agile team, built the product from scratch.
Worked closely with end-users conducting interviews, observing live usage, & also took customer support calls.
​
What I learnt: How to build & sell a product where the buyer is not the user.
How kids perceive and use technology.




Carnegie Mellon (Research Assistant), TelePresence | CA, USA
(Aug 2009 – Aug 2010)
The “Virtual Martin” project is a TelePresence research project aimed at developing a solution for remote presence in meeting rooms and remote exploration of a building using web cameras and video display mounted on a robot.
​
What I did: Developed a web-based Telepresence app - with a UI that relied on face recognition & controlling a robot remotely.
Presented research findings to gain funding & support.

What I learnt: Human Computer Interaction principles & practice.
How to conduct research.
Regalix (Project Manager), Digital Marketing | Bangalore, India
(May 2007 – Feb 2009)
At Simply Farm we worked to bring gardening to all urban homes. From being the first soilless cultivation store in India to developing efficient hydroponic systems and kits, our focus was to change food production and consumption.

What I did: Led 5 developer team to create e-commerce portal, compliance search portal, booking system for studios & other products.
​
What I learnt: Digital marketing & how the ecosystem works.
I learnt that the real innovation happens in Silicon Valley & I needed to be there.
