THINK

I posit that we are living in a shared collective consciousness, tapping into each others' thoughts. Consequently exploring thoughts that arrive in our minds and deliberating on them is an important act towards raising ones awareness.

Thoughts lead to ideas, and ideas lead to actions.

Topics I am currently thinking about are:

  1. Relationship between Processes & Culture in Teams and it's impact on business

  2. Sustainable Living & Communities

  3. Designing Your Life

Process & Culture:

I have been a part of many different types of teams, of various sizes, international representations, remote & local. I have also had the opportunity to build cross-functional teams from scratch. Through all these experiences I have realized there is a strong interplay between - processes, culture, and consequently business outcomes. This is an important topic for any leader or entrepreneur to have a grasp on. I am working towards collating my experiences as well as books, research, anecdotal stories in a series of blogs posts.

Sustainable Living & Communities:

The idea of sustainability has gone through several iterations in my life time since the days when Captain Planet would urge us on TV to "reduce, reuse, and recycle" when holes in the Ozone layer were the biggest issue to Climate Change and EVs.

I have developed a keen interest in this subject; in fact my previous startup SimplyFarm addressed food production & consumption. In 2021 I joined Vardini Trust (an NGO for rescued Cows) as a Secretary. Working in an animal farm provides ample opportunity to implement sustainability ideas. I have started with rain water harvesting by creating a small pond in the farm.

While ideas for sustainable living can be implemented independently; another dimension to this are how communities operate. Historically we find evidence of civilizations that flourished with limited resources, even today there are tribes that have figured out how to live in harmony with nature.

It seems the modern capitalist/consumerist economy is at the root of a lot these problems. A major factor in the race for consumerism is the act of divorcing an Individual from the Community. The system then promises to fill the hole left behind with "Products". While communities whither away and people forget what they have truly lost along the way.

However, at the same time it looks like this is the most successful type of economy that will inevitably turn all of the world on to this system. In the name of development are we destroying ourselves? Can anything stop this train?
I try to explore these questions, share my work on the farm as well as explore other sustainability ideas in this series of blog posts.

Designing Your Life:

We are born into this world without conscious volition, everything is great until you turn into an adult and are thrown to face the world being ill prepared professionally, financially, or emotionally. Thinking about what it means to live well or even to  just live are big questions everyone thinks about at some point. I have looked to people in my life, religion, books, philosophers, etc and worked on designing my own life the way I see it.

I am working on a podcast where I will share things that "I wish I knew". Of course I will also be writing on these topics in this series of blog posts.

I also draw inspiration from my wife & brother-in-law who are making headway into some of these aspects. They are teaching about finance - you check out there work at Financial Freedom Academy.
